Our mission is to advocate, support and create edible landscapes in the urban environment
Vision
We seek to create a world where no one goes hungry and everyone knows how to grow their own food sustainably.
Goals & Objectives
To secure vacant lots and fallow land within city limits by planting fruit, nut and other edible perennial plants. These parcels will be tended by locals who will receive a portion of the harvest, plants for their city property and/or free admission to classes and presentations made by Arboueus staff. Over time these perennial foodscapes will produce annual yields with minimal work (no tilling, irrigating, etc). By doing so we hope to create a sustainable urban food supply, preserve rare plant genetics, educate citizens, develop green space, and sequester carbon.
Income will be generated in the following ways:
Yearly plant sale.
In kind donations.
Sales of surplus harvest and dormant cuttings, seeds, roots, etc.
